Dannii Minogue put on a brave face yesterday after she was “sacked” by one of her X Factor contestants. The singer attended an event at London’s Banqueting House on the day it emerged that Rachel Hylton had fired her as mentor and was planning to be the first ever contestant to compete in the competition without the help of one of the judges. In a statement, Hylton said: “I don’t have anything against Dannii at all and she is still very much my mentor and I respect her opinions, all I want is a little more control over my performance and styling, which she is allowing me to have.” But her protégée’s words didn’t dampen Dannii’s mood and she was all smiles on the red carpet.
