Disgraced comedians Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross have been nominated for this year’s British Comedy Awards. Ross is shortlisted for Best Comedy Entertainment Programme for his Friday night chatshow, while Brand has been nominated for Best Live Standup Performer. Jonathan Ross stepped down from presenting the awards ceremony, a job he has done since it launched 17 years ago, in the wake of the Sachsgate phone scandal. The full list of nominees will be published shortly ahead of the awards ceremony on 6 December. SOURCE: GUARDIAN
