Are tote bags just for your books to bring to class or is it like a school bag too? And same thing for a messenger bag. Thanks

both can be used for books and school, the tote can be used as a big purse though too

Tote bags can be used to bring in books too.. same goes for messenger bags.. But I wouldn’t recommend it esp. if you are in high school or middle school.. I used to carry a messenger bag and a tote bag once for school, but they hurt so much! My shoulders ached for 2 days! Messenger bags are okay but I think tote bags should just be used for like a purse you know? I just recommend the regular kind of bookbag with the 2 straps.

i have a tote bag then a messenger bag. the messenger bag is strictly for my school books and supplies, my tote has my phone, my sunglasses, and pens in it. but it’s pretty much up to you how you carry your stuff.

it saves a lot of fumbling around if you designate a separate bag for your school stuff though.

From my 13 year old experience, the back pack is a thing of the past. Popular stores have now invented huge totes meant for school, because as we all now, totes are in. Messengers bags are okay but they’re from.. last fall? last spring? Totes have been in since this spring and they’re definitely going to make it into the school year! I suggest getting a cute and reasonably priced bag from American Eagle.

They also have a couple of messenger bags on clearance for 19.99 but they might not be in store, just in case:

I love using tote bags and messenger bags for school because they are just adorable (and totes are sometimes roomier). I use them all the time without any aches or pains despite what is suggested. That really only occurs if you continually use then on the same shoulder, but if you are concerned about aches then stick to the traditional two-strap backpacks.
