I am starting high school? Tips, style help?19 replies

I am starting high school in two days! I am nervous!!! I talked to my friend’s older sister about it already, but any tips??? In middle school, I was sort of known for fashion, will it stay that way in high school? What bugs the upperclassmen?? Anyways….help? Also, is this okay for the first day of school?? Navy blue lacoste polo, madras sneakers, a distressed juicy couture mini skirt, oversized marc jacobs sunglasses (is is supposed to be sunny), and a canvas tote as a bookbag
(this one: http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7357610/c/119860.html). I have a bob, so probably with my hair in pigtails (it does not look young). The clothes to not have big logos on them, besides the tote, and the shoes are comfortable. Is that okay? I am nervous!!!

   That’s fine. Don’t be nervous, and though this is going to sound corny–just be yourself. I just wear whatever I feel like it and the “popular” kids end up coming to me for fashion tips. So don’t mind what other people think; just dress how you want to and rock it.

   Sorry hun, but if you’re starting in a brand new school then you have to make your own “title” again. (oh and the link doesn’t work).

   DON’T pretend to be popular, especially with the upperclassmen. You’ll come off as a snob.

   DO smile a lot.

   DO approach other people even if you don’t know them. Especially other freshmen! They’re looking for more friends too!

   No pigtails please. Whatever you do, with your hair that short…no pigtails. that’s like an OKAY style for when you’re out with friends and relaxing. If u were known for fashion in middle school…expect that to semi-change. these are upperclassmen who most likely will be better dressed. what bugs upperclassmen? oh man this reminds me of when i graduated 2 years ago…ummmm…don’t stand in the middle of the hallways. you WILL get knocked around and make instant enemies. don’t flaunt and make it seem like you’re the sh*t. (sorry for the curse word). really, just be yourself…you’ll be fine. it’s not that big a deal. good luck!

   Your outfit sounds good. And yeah, if you still care about your style then other people will probably notice.

   Dont act like you own the school—upperclassmen make fun of freshmen that do that. Be yourself. Be outgoing and friendly and you’ll do ok.

    You probably still be known for fashion, but you won’t be as popular as you were in middle school so soon. Just be yourself, dress in what you like, and be nice and you might climb your way up the social ladder It sounds okay, but honestly theres not need to pair so many designers together. Don’t brag about it either, trust me people won’t like you if you do. Other than that, I think you’ll be fine so good luck!

    just be yourself! same situation for me….i’m gunna wear a half button down gray shirt, black tanktop underneath, blak shorts, and blak flip flops, keep it simple cuz not a lot of ppl dress up for the first day anymore…..if u look at catalogs u can copy the style so u no it matches and wat not. oh and comfortable shoes r good, and converse match almost anything and they are really in style……Tj maxx and bobs have some cute ones…….good luk!

    the outfit-trying to hard! don’t wear all designer wear like a knit tee or your polo with like hollister or a brand of shorts that you like denim

    hey, I’m starting high school tomorrow morning, my biggest fear was finding where my classes were >_>
    anyways, you’ve really got nothing to worry about; just wear whatever you feel like wearing and people wont give you crap for it, dont try to be a fashion queen/coolest chick in school and you should be fine. good luck!
