Do high school girls carry backpacks or just tote bags?16 replies

I’m going into grade 9 and I want to carry my book bag (1 shoulder) and still be able to carry like my purse kinda bag. Do I carry both or just the one? Thanks

   high schoolers usually dont carry bookbags, only geeky kids do

   usually people will carry a tote bag which will carry their school stuff including other things they want to bring to school.

   Both. Here (Canada) most girls carry a fashion/tote bag that is big enough for their books and a purse on the side but many carry the one should strap book bags that hang by your knees.

   well i started 9th grade a couple weeks ago
   and i have a backpack and a kinda big purse
   it works out fine for me

   I carried a backpack. I suppose you could carry both if you wanted to.

    most in my school carry a book bag and their pocket book (purse).

    do whatever makes you feel comfortable. not what everyone else does. be yourself.

    It really doesn’t matter. The bookbag is comfortable, but on the other hand, the tote bag is cute. Depends on what your in the mood for that day.

    Most girls in my school carry designer tote bags with the exception of some Hollister or Abercrombie bags… I usually carry large Lacoste bags, and when I start this year I am getting a big Longchamp bag.. Most girls don’t use actual school bags, because 1. It’s not really allowed and 2. It isn’t really cool too…

    I suggest getting a really cool totebag even if it’s not designer… I think what would be cool is if you got a really big black tote, buy little pins or emblems to put on…

    It’s your descision, but ultimatley mostly boys carry book bags and girls carry totes :]

    it depends on the school and the person
    at my school most use bookbags and only a few carry totes
    i carried a tote last ear and this year i’m using a messenger bag
    you should use both.backpacks come in handy but oversized bags and totes are cute
