Can I use shoe polish on a tote bag?2 replies

I have brown leather tote bag that is looking scruffy. Can I use ordinary shoe polish on it? If I do , will the shoe polish rub off the bag onto my shirt?

   No because the tote bag leather is thinner and may ruin the leather

   Shoe polish will come off on your clothing. Depending on the type of leather your bag is will depend on how you approach tidying it up. You may simply need to clean and protect it or you may need some colour product which could be aniline dye or pigment.
   Check the type of leather you have here:
   and then use the appropriate products for the bag. Using the wrong products may ruin it.
