can i add/sew a zipper closure onto a storebought tote bag?2 replies

if i bought a tote bag (that did not have zipper/any closure), is it possible for me to sew one on? would it ruin the look of the bag?

   If you know how to sew a zipper, it is fine to have a zipper on the tote bag, why not? Just make sure the color of the zipper tape (where the stitches will be on) match with the color of your tote bag, Joann fabrics has many type of zippers and colors to choose from.
   If you find it hard to sew a zipper on the bag, you can always stitch on some Velcro as a closure.
