In my opinion… kids are growing up way too fast these days.. Make up ?? In 6th grade??? come on now..

You shouldn’t be worried about that stuff..

I think maybe in 7th or 8th I started wearing powder lol and that’s about it..

everything else came in high school
not because my parents didn’t let me..just for the fact that it wasn’t a big deal back then..

times are a changing I guess.

I started wearing eyeshadow and lipgloss way back thenn. Be warned tho, most of peeps ur age dont know what looks proper or not so start small and work your way up.

I was about your age when I started wearing makeup. I only wore a little bit of pink eyeshadow, lipgloss and a little bit of mascara. I would tell your mom that you will be responsible with it and that you won’t make your self look like a hore. But you also have to understand that shes only being a good mom.

    Hope I helped! § Emily §

I started wearing foundation, powder, and concealer in 5th grade, but only because I had really bad acne from an early age. You definatly don’t need the eyeshadow and mascara usually doesn’t make anyone look good. It also damages your lashes and makes the brittle. Just try curling your lashes up.

Every year the gals start earlier and earlier but your Mom is going to have to see that you are not planning on makeup just to look older or she is going to freak. Ask to start with lip gloss and go easy. Then work your way up to mascara, if needed. You sound like your sensible about it though. No point in looking like a tramp is it?

When you lie or cheat she will be able to tell you that other things are out of line and she’d be right. By the way, you will be wearing make up for years and years and years and more years and one day wish you could not. It’s fun at first and then guess what? It becomes a necessity.

I am in sixth grade to and i wear make up! The thing is some moms just dont like their kids wearing make up! I think you should sit down with your mom and talk to her about just a eye shadow and if she says no ask her when you can wear make up! What school do you go to?

    Enjoy being a little kid. I didn’t start until I was 13.

i started wearing makeup when i was almost 13, but knew a lot of girls who did when i was eleven, too.

just ask your mom a bit differently. she may think you’re too immature if you say “well everyone else does!” it sounds childish and kind of whiney.

you should probably just ask her politely if the subject of makeup ever does come up; like at the store when you’re near the makeup section with her, or if she ever talks about makeup or anything like that.

she would probably be more willing to let you wear it if you ask for just one or two makeup items first. like “mom, can i wear (insert makeup item here)?” or “can you show me how to put on (insert makeup item here).” it shows her that you want to take it slowly and ask for her opinions and advice before going crazy with makeup. it might make her feel like you’re bonding, too, or something crazy that moms think.

    well, good luck!

I think when I was about 14 I could start with the whole deal. But I started using concealer for my under eyes at 12 or 13. I didn’t start using make-up, Ie: Foundation, blush, etc until I was 16 almost 17. Now at 19 I’m a make-up junkie. AH!!! I suppose I was a pretty weird kid though because my mom tried to get me to wear make-up but I wouldn’t have anything to do with it until I was 16.

My mum never really cared, but I learnt how to apply make up good from a young age because I did dancing which needed heavy stage makeup.

I’m 14 now, have been told by many people that I have good make up skills and lots of my friends ask me for advice, but still every day I only wear eyeliner or mascara. Foundation only when I have pimples, and you dont need to cover anything up. Those 6th graders that wear make up so young will probably clog their pores and get pimples etc. so hold off.

well im 13 and my mom
    has let me wear makeup
    since i was like 9..
    not to school, but like
if we were going to dinner
    or something.

    cause she did the same
    thing with my older sister
    and she barely wears any
    makeup cause she already
    knows what looks good and
    what she likes. (:

My mom wouldn’t allow me to wear anything but lip gloss until I turned 17, and now I’m a professional make-up artist! Just give it time.

when i was 11 i would use brown mascara and lip gloss that was it, but when i started 7 grade my mom didnt care how dark i had my makeup on. ask your mom if you can use clear mascara, it looks better than nothing also it will help her ease in to the fact that you want to wear makeup. i get told that i should be a makup artist so i know how to do dark makeup and not have it look bad, i am 15 years old incase you were wondering.
