It is not acne, nor exema….but almost like a natural blush. But I need to tone it down. Is there any really good makeup without spending an arm and a leg to purchase it?

mineral makeup is really good at coverage…!! try sheer cover, or bare escentuals. :)

i personally am using Merle Norman Luxiva foundation/powder right now.. u wet the sponge, and coverage is GREAT. i hear if u get their concealer and pat that on, put the foundation over, works wonders. good luck~~!

It sounds like you have rosacea. Ask a doctor, you can get creams or pills for it. Avoid caffeine, spicy food and alcohol. It makes the red worse. Make up- try Aveda dual performance. It is a powder foundation and you get great coverage, easy to use and quick.

Physician’s Formula has a line of green-tinted concealers. The green cancels out the red so neither color shows up on your face. They are reasonably-priced too, and you can find the brand at places like CVS, Eckerd and Walgreen’s.

I too have a very ruddy complexion. Age 45. The best so far is Bare Escentuals. I buy mine on Ebay, it’s much less expensive and somehow it works! Also, Maybelline Pure Makeup gives a nice matte finish, and surprisingly good coverage while looking very, very natural. Less than $6.00 I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on foundations to find the look I want. I’ve tried them all!

I would try Bare Minerals by Bare Escentuals. I have the redness on my checks and broken capillaries around my nose and it covers it without looking like a mask. The makeup doesn’t clog your pores, you control the coverage and it has a natural SPF15.
If you’re near either a Bare Escentuals boutique or Sephora store stop in and check it out. Both carry the starter kit which contains 2 foundation shades, warmth, mineral veil, 3 brushes and an instructional DVD, it’s between $60-$75.
    Good luck!!

i have this same thing i use true mineral foundation in medium 2. it has gold undertones so it blends the redness with the rest of my face but leaves the area looking like i have a lite blush on!!

    Hi, Debbie-great name!

Try Mary Kay! The great thing is a consultant comes to you and you get to try the product (foundation) before you spend the money so you will know if it works!
Also, Mary Kay has a brand new Even Complexion Essence that helps even out skin tone. No, it is not an overnight fix but it does work. My son told me I looked dead after putting on my Mary Kay foundation because my face is “ruddy”, that is how noticable it was. After using the Even Complexion Essence, I don’t have such red cheeks. I am a Mary Kay consultant.
Try to look for a consultant in your area
or you can contact me if you have further questions

    Hope this was helpful!
