What kind of makeup would you do for this?5 replies

My friend and I are doing a photo shoot. We are going to /attempt/ mermaids. What kind of makeup should we use and how can we make “tails”?

Please answer my other question regarding our photoshoot too, if you can!

   get sea-like things, like starfish earrings if you can find them, and use sea-like colours for your makeup like turquoise, blue etc. sorry, i don’t know much about it.

   mermaids are a fairytale kind of thing, so I would go all out, with colors that you normally wouldn’t wear, and be bold with them, fake lashes, bold colors, face jewels…things like that. I would have the fins talor made..it would probably take forever to do it yourself! Or..you could just get a long skirt, and put pieces of cloth on it in the color your tail is going to be. I would do the color and then a piece of clear, shiny paper or something over it to make it look real…if you don’t want to use sequence or something.

   IDK…Just a thought…You have a really good idea though;)

   You should use like a turqoise or green eye. Very dramatic. Try to use like blues and greens (ocean colors).

   hmm like tails on your eye? or costume tails? well in anyevent you might try this:
   1) prep eye area with matte powder
   2) brush a pale coral shadow over entire eye area (something like mark- fairy dust)
   3) starting at the brow line brush a light shimmery shadow (bare essentials- ecstacy
   4) brush a shimmery aqua shadow on your crease, carefully blending it (covergirl-aqua paradise)
   5) brush a light aqua or seafoam green from lash line to crease (MAC gogo green)
   6) use a shimmering black powdered eyeliner to make a thin line around the eye
   7) dust a silver shadow just below your eye apply a really good mascara

   I don’t know how to make a tail. But for the make up try this.
   1. Either sea green, torquoise blue, green, or pink eyeshadow.
   2. If you must/want/can use eyeliner try a light color like blue, green, silver type.
   3. For more of a mermaid look use a torquoise blue blush.
   4. Don’t use lipstick. Lipgloss is plenty.
   5. Try to find like sea earrings.
