I am a beginner at using makeup, and I’m trying to figure out which type to use. What do you prefer and why?

mineral makeup is better for your skin. It doesn’t clog your pores as much. Even though it’s more expensive, I’d go with mineral. =)

Mineral makeup doesn’t irritate sensitive skin, and doesn’t clog your pours.

Mineral makeup lets your skin breath and minimizes the chances of your skin breaking out. It also makes your makeup look more like your natural skin and makes it look healthy. However, most mineral eyeshadow is loose powder and is very messy. Mineral blush, foundation, and powder are all good products, but for eyes I would stick with regular eyeshadow. Also, look for talc free foundation (skin colored cover up) so that it won’t irritate your skin as much as regular would.

For blush, I use neutrogena mineral sheers blush in rare rose.(You can get this at drugstores and at Target)
For foundation and powder, I use Physicians Formula (talc-free, you can get it at Target)
A good but fairly inexpensive mineral eyeshadow is Larenim.(Go online for this one). As I said before, it is messy, but when you use it with a damp eyeshadow brush, the colors are a lot more vibrant and stay on your eyes.

    Hope I helped

as well as irritating your skin less, mineral makeup also emphasizes your natural skin more. where as normal foundation might completely cover your face, mineral makeup will use light reflective properties to show off your own skin color more but concealing flaws. your skin wil also be less clogged up and breakouts will be minimal. not washing your face for a night will also have less negative effects

Mineral makeup is usually better for your skin. Other makeup may be oil based which will sometimes make you break out, but even mineral make up will make you break out if you don’t wash it off right and take care of your face. But it all depends on if you are trying to stay away from chemicals on your skin or not. Good mineral makeup is natural and doesn’t contain chemicals or preservatives. Regular makeup might not necessarily make your skin breakout. It also depends on your complexion. So if you don’t have issues with regular makeup(which is usually cheaper) then buy it. It’s all about your own opinion, and they both most likely will look the same. It’s also about how your skin reacts too.
