What is the best before makeup moisturizer?7 replies

Whenever i put on makeup sometimes my skin gets kinda dry through out the day or my makeup looks clumpy!
and with this weather my skin has been getting dryer.
i hear moisturizer works great!

Ive used lotion before, and it make my makeup all clumby and messed up.

any suggestions?

   Hi there,
   I used sun lotion for a while when I’d ran out of moisturiser. It works better than make up moisturiser in my opinion. Although, sun lotion may clog your pores. However, sun lotion gets rid of driness on the skin straight away unlike make up moisturiser takes a couple of days.

   bareVitamins sikin rev-er upper. it’s with the bare essentials, minerals line. also the prime time foundation primer by bare vitamins as well. the rev-er upper is very light and moisturizing at the same time and then with the prime time over it, it smooths out your skin so that the foundation has a good canvas and won’t clump.

   try any face moisturizer that is NON-COMEDOGENIC and has SPF of 15 or more. Usually something like OLAY from the drugstore will work fine. Something more expensive that works great is Clinique (but I don’t think they have SPF) or try Hope in the Jar from Makeup Forever.

   Another thing that may improve your makeup application so id does not look clumpy is using a Facial Primer after moisturizing. Something I would recommend is the Smashbox line or Laura Mercier line. good luck!

   use an oil free moisturizer not lotion thats too oily…
   i use ponds or bareVitamins.

   No7 Intelligent Balance Moisteriser. I use it and i have combination skin. It evens out your skin type and i had the same problem with foundation. As i have medication for my acne which dries out the excess oil on my skin, whenever i applied foundation it went all flaky and dry. So i apply this before my foundation and it goes on smooth and looks really nice It costs around £11 i think from boots x

   I use Olay Complete with SPF 15 for Combination/Oily Skin. It makes my skin really smooth and moisturized, but not at all greasy. It is the best moisturizer I have used for before makeup and I have tried a lot. It has never broken me out either.
