If your talking about working at Macy’s or Bloomingdale’s at like a Clinique or Lancome counter.. You don’t need training.. They will hire anyone and train you… But in order to be a professional makeup artist it varies by state… Usually a beauty school runs for about 8-10 months and cost anywhere between 6 and 10 grand…. A dermatologist- is actually a doctor.. you would have to go to a regular medical college for that… Which would be 6-8 years and cost upward of 50,000 dollars.
