I have oily and dry skin. I cannot seem to keep makeup on my face. It is gone by 11:00am. I wash, tone and then use moisturizer that is great for my skin but I can not seem to find a system that will make the makeup stick. I use long lasting liquid foundations and powder.

Use less makeup, and try better products. If possible do without liquid foundation, because that may make your skin worse. It’s fashionable to go with very little makeup, if you can pull it off. Nothing looks worse than makeup thats coming off. Nothing.

I really like bare essentuals. It took a while for me to get used to because i used to use liquid foundation, but it has real staying power and has pretty good coverage. For special occasions when i want to make sure my eye makeup lasts through the night, i use a product called She laq by Benefit. Both are available at sephora.com

I say you should maybe: try a better face wash and moisturizer especially made for your type of skin, change make-up brands (if you use drugstore, walmart, etc. maybe invest in department store brands)…Have you tried BareMinerals makeup? It may work for you. :shrugs:

It has nothing to do with cheap or expensive. It has all to do with how you prep and how you apply. Since you have oily skin, you might want to switch your moisturizer to a oil free, hypoallergenic, lighter one. Try to find one that doesn’t clog pores, doesn’t feel heavy, and doesn’t make you all shiny. After you moisturize, make sure you wait for it to set on your face. Don’t put the make up on right after you moisturize or your makeup with just mix and match with it on your face. Now, the biggest thing, is to find a primer. Go to a department store, and ask one of those lovely ladies for a good face primer. Primer helps even the skin’s tone and texture, and prepares it for make-up application. It keeps make up on your face longer. Also, after you put on foundation, let it set before you go outside, and then put on your powder. MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS OIL FREE :)

I use a foundation from Este Lauder (yes sounds like a counter from old people i know) It works great! I saw people say because of cheap make up, if you use a right foundation it wont matter! For your eyeshadow to stick, put a dot of liquid concealer on there! Rub it in and then your eyeshadow will last really long!

If its eyeshadow that won’t stay on, then put foundation on your eyes first. If its your basic makeup(foundation) use a liquid foundation, then use a clear translucent powder.

Use a silicone based primer! You can find these on sephora.com or at makeup counters. They work amazing! They give your skin a “second layer” and smooth out fine lines. It is the perfect base for foundation. It makes foundation last way longer! They also make primers specifically for those with oily skin. I highly recommend Senna Cosmetics Silky Primer. It can be found at!

First moisturize your face before you put make up on. Second, use a foundation that matches your skin tone and put it on all over your face, including your eyelids and ears. Next put your make up on. If you put the foundation on over your eyelids, the make up will last longer.
