Well 12 you should wear mascara little eye shadow. You sohuld really start wearing make up when your 13 wear eyeliner, eye shadow, lip gloss, and foundation.

When i was 11 and 12, sparkles were all the rage, I used to wear a little….and then maybe a dab of cover up on a zit. Too much make-up is bad for any age, your supposed to “accent” the beauty you have, not cover everything up! I began with some neutral colors when I was 13, blushes and things.

Yeah, I agree that that’s way too young. I’d say start when your 13-14. That way you can start understanding whta makeup is for, not to make you pretty, but just to enhance your features. I totally agree with you with the fact that at age 12 only lip gloss and coverup if there is a zit. EVen when you start out, you shouldn’t put on THAT much, maybe only lipgloss, coverup, mascara. If your skin is uneven maybe some foundation too. But other than that, nothing more.

    Hope this helps!

    12 is a bit young
at 13 I could wear lip gloss, mascara, & coverup.
at 14 I could wear all that plus eyliner, eye shadow and blush
i guess its probably up 2 your parents though

that’s way too young! i think you should start when you’re 14 or so. Tell her she is wayy too young and should just be wearing lipgloss! She probably has more natural beauty and the makeup ruins it!

I’ll sort this out by grades:
5th grade – ChapStick or Lip Smacker
6th grade – ChapStick or Lip Smacker and a proper lip gloss
7th grade – ChapStick or Lip Smacker, a proper lip gloss, and maybe a tinted moisteriser
8th grade – ChapStick or Lip Smacker, a proper lip gloss, a tinted moisteriser, and an eyeliner (not black, but maybe a bown or grey)
9th grade and up – once you get in to highschool, you should have the freedom to do your makeup how ever you like

Note: for grades 5 and up, it is of course, ok to wear makeup to formal events

To be honest I say 16 is the best age to wear make-up, but not too much.

I agree, that is too much. Concealer is ok if she has acne and glosses and lipbalms are fine too but anything apart from that is not right for her age.

From the age of 14 is okk to start wearing eye make-up, but only if it’s done naturally. They have plenty of time to wear make-up and should get the most they can out the natural young look while they can

Since she is 12, I’d say concealer, a lip gloss with little to no color, and maybe a light eye shadow. If she wants to wear anything else, anything to look natural. Lip balm, a neutral eye shadow, maybe some eye liner, mascara, and concealer. She is too young for foundation. Maybe a tinted moisturizer if she insists on having some coverage. The first time I tried a foundation, I was way too young (11). I started using it again when I was 15, and now that I am sixteen, I still don’t really need a lot of foundation.

You can wear makeup whenever you feel like it..Usually I just go with a very small amount cuz I think its prettier to go natural.

i started in 7th grade. u should be able to once you get into middle school in my opinion because for some girls it gives the confidence. when i put my makeup on i feel so much prettier and you can tell that i feel better about myself. just dont judge her situation

When you can buy your own. Makeup is expensive! Another thing to keep in mind is that “everyday” makeup is intended to enhance your natural beauty. If she’s wearing dramatic make-up daily, people don’t get to see the real her. Pre-teens and teenagers generally have fantastic skin and youthful features, and don’t need makeup. My advice is for her to take advantage of the zero prep time and wait a couple years to start using makeup.

However, if your friend is only wearing a bit of concealer and some lipgloss, I think that’s fine. That’s not heavy at all – wait until you get to high school! – Eyeliner EVERYWHERE!
