My cat who is a Siamese/Tabby cross will sit on the couch and chew on plastic bags! She NEVER swallows any, she just chews away. She does this everyday. Even more than once.
Whats up with her? Shes about 3 years old, by the way.
Thanx!

cats love plastic but don’t let him chew on it because plastic is bad for him to digest.
I’ve had 2 cats that really enjoy chewing on plastic and go to any lengths to get it despite me taking it away. My theory is that they love the way it feels against their teeth…but I don’t have any evidence to back this up.
Cats see shiny, un-familiar objects and think ‘TOY!’. I understand. There is nothing wrong with your cat. She just so happens to like to attack bags.
Siamese and their crosses are known to do this, except a more common form of this is sucking on wool. It simulates the experience of suckling as a kitten. It’s nothing you did wrong — this is just a trait that some cats have. However, it can appear in other cats if they were weaned too early.
Perhaps your cat is just a playful kitty. Cats like crinkly noises. Just make sure her head doesn’t get stuck in the handle things or anything.
i think she migth be chewing on the bags because shes playing with it. My cat eats paper and baps it around. so maybe your cat is just playing with it. who knows, maybe your cat likes the taste of plastic bags. ;D
I have 14 cats and some of them chew bags also.
I think it just feels good on their teeth
There isn’t anything wrong with her. My cat(s) will sit in a plastic bag and lick them. Must be something in the plastic!
She probably just likes the taste… though I don’t suggust letting her keep on doing it.
My cat ends up crawling into plastic bags and laying down so i have to be careful about leaving them laying around. Mine is a siamese as well
