What exactly makes a bag “fake”? If it carries your wallet and keys then it’s hardly fake.
Because they can’t afford the real as you said and they want to have something that looks similar to it because they like the way it looks.
They want to feel accepted and don’t want people to know that they aren’t very rich.

Some people don’t care if it’s real or fake, some don’t know that they’re being sold a fake one, and some don’t want to spend too much money on the real thing

It is completely tacky to buy a knockoff!! Especially when there are affordable quality brands (Liz Claiborne, etc) available.
I’m not sure there’s a difference between buying a $400 handbag on MasterCard and paying cash for a $20 knockoff. Either way, it’s fake.
Because they like the style and don’t want to waste a ridiculous amount of money paying for the name. If it does its job of holding your stuff, what is the big deal? The only people that hate those with “fake” handbags are the stuck-up rich kids who rely on mommy or daddy to buy them things.

Because they can’t afford the real thing…some fake bags are considered real cute so it’s not really about the price of the bag, more like the style of the bag. some people like to flaunt their money, some don’t care. I don’t.
obviously its cheap and looks like the real thing….i wouldnt spend $200 or more on a purse so i dont blame them…..i would rather use that money and buy clothing…
Because they are trying to impress others. It makes strangers, at least, think they have enough status in life to afford the finer things. Maybe it makes them feel better about themselves to give that impression to others that don’t know them well.

because they can’t afford the real thing, they are ridiculously expensive. If it looks the same and i like it, why not? Children in impoverished countries could eat and drink clean water for years for the amount of money some people spend on designer clothes and jewelery and bags…
Personally with the constant change of fashion I can get two bags for the price of one. I love to buy hand bags and if I bought the real thing everytime I saw a new one that I like I would be living in my car with my bags. So for me I am more into quantity instead of quality, at least when it comes to constant change.
you got me… I don’t get it! my cousin was saying how I would never buy a fake handbag and I bet her I would and wear it out too… I ended up buying a fake one and felt so guilty and self conscious I threw it out… I can’t stand fakes! are people so desperate to fit in they will buy fakes and probably embarrass themselves when people find out? just save your money and buy a real one people!!! it’s so worth it!!!
Either they don’t have the money or simply cheap! If anyone you knows buy those, you might want to discourage them. Most of the fake ones come from sweat shop factories in Asia, exploiting women and girls.
