Why are Louis Vuitton bags so damn expensive in a store like Saks?10 replies

But you can buy an authentic bag off the street for damn near nothing? Isn’t the company losing profits that way?
Okay so its a legendary label, okay, but say what if Faded Glory(Walmart) is still around 50 years from now, would people be buying the clothes for thousands of dollars? No they wouldn’t. Labels only have as much power as people give them. If a major celeb like Beyonce or J-Lo suddenly started wearing them, would their value increase because of the demand? Maybe. Who knows? My point is that I was at a thrift shop one day and saw 5 Louis bags in the showcase and bought one for like $50. It had the bag inside that you can use to protect the leather, plus a lock and key. I’m not up on high end things but my bag is the real deal. Any response?
And so damn what if it is a fake? the leather is so soft and beautiful, smells like my leather jacket, and I can wear it with most of my summertime outfits. People who pay $2000 for a purse I frown upon because they could be putting that money to better use, like donating to the ACS or breast cancer research.
And how the hell would you know it’s a fake if you can’t see the damn thing with your own eyes?
LOL I can’t stop!!!

No you can’t, they are fake and sold on the blackmarket. China is flooding the marketplace with these cheaply made bags that are copies. Police bust these people who sell them because it is hurting the companies who sell the genuine bags.

It is fake. If you do not believe me, take it to a dealer who sells the bags, and you will find out you don’t buy one for $50. There are women on eBay who sell the dust covers and tags to other people to use on their fake bags. If you do not believe me, take a look on eBay at the people who sell the tags and dust covers by themselves. After you find out it is fake, call the police because you have been a victim of fraud.

Yeah, they can run you 2 grand and up! NO handbag is worth that price! You are paying for the logo and all the hype that goes with it.

You may think that the bags on the street are real but they are fake. The reason why they are so expensive is because you are paying for the name and the material is expensive. Louis Vuitton has been here for awhile and is a legendary label so they have earned the right to be expensive because they have lasted through the years instead of fall from the spotlight. You can tell when a bag is real if the leather on the handle darkens over time.

The bags sold on the streets are FAKE. It’s made of cheap material put together in factories in China. The real stuff is made from exquisite material hand made in France. Its a huge process. The company is also very old. Do you know that only 1% of all Vuitton products are authentic?

LMAO. those bags are fake, dear. If you think the bag isn’t worth it then you shouldn’t but it. The company isn’t losing profit because most people, such as myself, follow the a trend. I prefer the name-brands.

I have never understood why people insist on buying “name” (designer) articles when similar goods of equivalent quality can be found in any shopping center for half or even one quarter of the price. Why do ordinary folk persist in making these celebrity “designers” into millionaires when all they are actually doing is creating a common item to match their own particular taste and it is only the “name” behind the item that arouses so much interest

It’s all in the name dahling, and the bags on the streets are knock-offs. Personally, I could never justify spending a small fortune on a purse. I actually walked into Chanel (or Dior-can’t remember) and asked how much a particular bag was-the sales-lady wrinkled up her nose and retorted: “Fifteen Hundred Dollars.” It was a scene reminiscent from the movie, “Pretty Woman.”

the bags that you buy off the street are not real. The expensive bags are of so much higher quality goods then the bags from the street. You may be paying allot of the price for a label but not all of it. higher quality items cost a little more. people should not encourage getting fake bags because if someone gets a new real bag people will say that it is fake which sucks just buy the real product or do not buy one

It’s cool if you don’t like them.
    But why so much hatred?
People appreciate different things in life, even if you may call it vanity.

You say your bag is a real deal. You might want to take your bag to a LV shop before making that claim.

is about satisfaction, when you have the real things, and it doesn’t matter how can be reachable or not and its exclus, We know its not fare for us because its only the peace of leather bag, but don’t forget its master piece whoever design that pattern bag, and should be exclusive thought.
