I was looking at buying a new purse but was debating on getting a coach or a dooney. What are you all suggestions. I’m stuck. Give me some ideas on what purses you all suggest and what brand.

they are both nice brand name purses. I guess it depends on style you like. They both got different styles. I would research more on what kind of purse I like. good luck

of the two choices, i’d go with dooney & bourke. they seem to offer a really high level of quality for the price. d&b purses are also a lot “younger” as far as image – if you’re going for older/more mature or professional, then i’d go with coach. d&b is a lot more fun, something you’d take out to the clubs or the mall where coach is something to take to work imho.

me personally, they’re not my thing. i’m very into Harajuku Lovers purses right now (i snatch them up anytime i see them). but i’m honestly not that into labels for purses. shoes is a whole other issue though…

It all boils down to which style you like better. It really is up to you because you will be the one looking at it or using it everyday. They are both very classic styles that do not go out of style. Dooney is sturdier though and my Dooney’s last longer than my Coach bags.

Others say Coach are more elegant as royalty uses them

What a great question for me to stumble upon! I live in Southern Calif. and just got back from a trip to north FL and SC. I was amazed that so many women coveted Coach and D&B. Sure, they’re still popular here, but I have never understood why anyone would spend $300 on one of those brands when you can get Prada for that (when you’re lucky at a Saks/Neimans outlet or Nordstrom rack).

When investing that sort of money in a bag (no matter what you choose), go for a more classic style than one that will be out of fashion in six months.

I happen to think the new patchwork Coach is awful – yet my cousin in FL thinks it’s art. To each his own, I suppose.

Coach bags are alot more classy and fashionable…and for the money you would spend on either kind, why not pay for real leather instead of fabric?
