Remembering to bring your bags seems to be a big issue. To be completely honest, I sell reusable grocery bags and I would like to have some tips to give to my customers. What works and what doesn’t. Hopefully by being honest I can get some good answers.

I leave them in the trunk. Usually I remember them by the time I reach the doors. So I have to go back to the car, but not back to the house =\

It’s very efficient when going to Aldi’s too. Since you have to BUY their bags =\

I keep them in the trunk all the time. If I remember before I get to the store I will put the bags in the front seat under my purse so I will be sure to remember them. Also, I keep a fold up bag in my purse that comes in a small pouch but opens to a full size bag. That is always in my purse so even if I wasn’t planning to shop I will still have a bag if I do.

Yes, I agree, leave them in the trunk of the car.

Like the first guy, I leave mine in my car- but I never forget to get mine before I hit the door. I actually keep a smaller one in my purse, for when I am just getting a few items. It works for me.

Take them back to the car immediately they have been emptied, then they are there for next time :)

I have two large ones and I keep them in my car. I usually just use one at a time, so there’s usually at least one in the car at any given time. After I bring the groceries home and take them out of the bag I put the bag near the door so that I’ll remember to take it with me to my car when I leave to work the next day. That way, even if I need to make an unplanned trip to the grocery store I have a bag in my car.

It only takes a few times to get used to this routine. I don’t have to give those bags much thought anymore, I just take them with me as a matter of routine.

Suggest that they take the bags out to the car for the next trip either right away, or hang them on the door knob until they head out to the car again.

Or, they could put a little sticky note in a place they see daily before leaving the house as a reminder.

Also, you could suggest that if they are worried about getting the grocery bags soiled in the trunk or whatever, they could just get a small plastic bin or something like that to keep them in so they don’t get soiled in the car.

I hang my grocery bags on the doorknob to the garage after I empty them so I don’t forget to put them in the car. Instead of the trunk, I stash mine in the seatback pocket on the passenger’s seat so I can reach them from the driver’s seat without having to open the trunk.
