Kids & Teens: Tinkle Belle and Fairies Theme

Tinker’s friends: Rosetta, Silvermist, Fawn, Iridessa, Fairy Mary, and Terence, lived in the Pixie Hollow.

    Dress-Up Play:
    · Wings (oriental trader sales them by the dozen or you can also make your own)
    · Wands (you can also find these at oriental trader or you can make your own)
    · Cute skirts
    · Play jewelry (flower necklaces, jewelry that looks like it’s made from nature)

    Food and Drinks:
Mini muffins (pumpkin (Tinker’s favorite), chocolate covered fruits, vegetables w/ ranch dressing. Sandwiches cut into butterfly, flower and/or star shapes. Fancy frosted cookies shaped like flowers. Sserve edible fairy wands by cutting traditional rice cereal treats in star shapes with a cookie cutter. Then, insert a large pretzel rod ¼ of an inch into each for the wand’s handle. Make Strawberry Roll-Ups by spreading a thick layer of strawberry cream cheese on a plain flour tortilla. Roll the tortilla tightly and cut into bit-sized pieces. Stick a toothpick through the snacks to keep them securely rolled up. Make fairy floats by adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream or rainbow sherbet to a glass of pink lemonade. Serve with silly straws. Serve an enchanted elixir! Freeze cranberry and grape juice in ice cube trays before the party. Serve a colorless soda at the party, such as ginger ale or lemon-lime. Let your guests select their ice cubes, which will “magically” change the color of their drinks. For a Tinker bell party cake, surround a round cake with cupcakes to create a flower. Ice the center with yellow frosting and the cupcakes with pink frosting. Add a new, clean Tinker bell toy to the center of the cake.
    · If you would rather not serve cake, consider serving chocolate fondue instead. Include strawberries, banana slices, marshmallows, and pretzels for dipping.

    Decorations:
Sprinkle the table with glitter or confetti to look like pixie dust. Place napkins in flower napkin holders. Have Tea set. Place card holders and personalize each place setting. Plastic Fairies can be used for the cake, table, house or even games. It would be fun to explore the woodland-style version in the future and really play up the ivy, wood/branches, old-fashioned lanterns, fireflies, and other “Peter Pan” type elements, dragonflies, butterflies, twinkle lights, and giant paper “flowers” (a.k.a. Martha Stewart’s pink tissue poms) transformed the birthday girl’s backyard into an Enchanted Forest! Have spring colorful flowers (silks or real) and greeny spread out aroung the party. Cut large flower shapes out of different colors of butcher paper or felt and hang them on the walls of the party area. Balloons are a must at any party! Print out screen shots of Tinker bell movie scenes. You can both blow them up and hang them as posters in the party area, or you can attach the printouts to a long piece of ribbon and hang it as a banner.

    Gifts Ideas:
Pixie Sticks, Bubbles, Wand, Stickers and Little bags or jars of pixie dust (glitter, colored sand).

    Music:
Do you have an ipod? Set it up with a good stereo system. If you don’t have one, ask one of your friends who does. Also if you’re in the mood, have a karaoke; this will be a fun entertainment!!! Play any dance music you like.

    Games:
    Snaps and Claps Game:
Following only the clues of snaps and claps, Fairy players are rewarded for becoming perfect pixie posers.
    WHAT YOU NEED:
    • Glitter
    • Sandwich Bags
    HOW TO PLAY:
1.} Give every player a ‘pixie dust pouch’ (a small sandwich bag with some glitter)
2.} One player, the poser, goes around the corner of the house, while the other players agree on a pose they want her to adopt: standing on tip toes, one hand on head with the other on your tummy, and so on.
3.} The poser then comes back and begin moving her arms and legs into various positions. The other players either snap and clap (if she’s getting closer to the pose they want) or quiet down (if she’s heading in the wrong direction).
4.} Depending on the age and sportsmanship of the players, you might let fly some good-natured boos and jeers if the poser is way off. But when the poser gets the pose right, it’s time for wild cheers and a standing ovation – complete with a celebratory throw of pixie dust in the air!

    Fairy Wand Treats:
    Hands-On Time: 15 minutes
    Ready In: 45 minutes
    Ingredients:
    * Pretzel Sticks – several dozen if using the smaller ones
    * White chocolate chips – a 12 ounce bag covers quite a bit
    * 1 tablespoon shortening
    * Several colors and shapes of sugar, sprinkles and confetti
    Directions:
Melt chocolate chips and shortening together until smooth.
Dip the top third of each pretzel stick into the melted chocolate.
Sprinkle with sugar or confetti sprinkles.
Set on waxed paper, parchment or foil and let stand until set, about 15 – 30 minutes.
    Stand up in colored sugar.
