I have a very petite dilute tortie, she likes to lick plastic bags, she will do this for hours. I just try to keep them up and out of her sight, which is actually the best policy for anything potentially dangerous.

Put away all the plastic bags in your place!

You can get some spray at your local petstore that will make her stop. It just makes the bag taste awful and she will stop trying to chew bags after about a week.

Well of course it couldn’t be teething, but maybe it might feel good on her teeth, my cats do it but that is because they started to develop gingivitis so I had to start brushing it’s teeth daily with pet toothpaste. That might be one case, Don’t be afraid to put your finger inside it’s mouth and see if it’s gum and teeth look alright, or go to the Vet to find a solution!

Also, why do you have plastic bags hanging around the place?
If you know the cat will chew it DON’T LEAVE THEM OUT!!!

That’s just the way cats are. I don’t think it is humanly possible for them to stop. Just think about like their litter boxes have trash bags lined in it and they scratch that. So it’s kinda their instinct. Try giving your cat a paper shopping bag. My cat loves to chew those. Now only my cat chews plastic bags when she wants me to get up out of bed and give her food.

One of our cats likes to chew on plastic bags as well. We just have to be diligent in putting them away where he can’t get them. You need to do something about this so your cat doesn’t choke on the plastic and possibly die.
