Does the Air in potato Chip bags really matter?5 replies

Why do bags of Potato chips have air in them? Will Ievery be able to buy an airless bag of chips?

    It’s there to keep the chips from being crunched and crushed in transit. The only “airless” type I can think of are Pringles, since they’re stacked in a rigid can that protects them, instead of a soft bag that is no protection without the air puffing it out.

    Mostly to protect them from crushing up to dust.

    It’s to protect the chips from being smashed, it’s a good thing. If people like eating crumbs then we might see an airless bag of chips.

    The air is important if you don’t want “tiny little chips.” ~%})~
    The air in the bag is probably healthier for you than the chips.
