My daughter, along with other girls age 6-16 are competing in a dance competition and I want to make all the girls goodie bags as a “great job” gift. Any suggestions on small and affordably priced items I can include that would be appropriate for the wide age range? Thanks!
please serious suggestions. Remember we are talking about children. thanks!

At most dance stores they sell mini dance shoe key chains, I have seen them for most every shoe and they are really cheap. If you give them each a shoe of whatever type one of their dances are that would be really cool. you could also get them bracelets maybe a bracelet all about dancing or u can get them personolized for your studio. They come REALLY cheap and you can pick from loads of colors. Here is a link

All girls, regardless of age, like lip gloss, nail polish, Skittles or lollipops. Barrettes and elastics are great.
Dancers (young and old) can use white and black polish for dance shoes. Fabric tape (the kind to tape clothes to yourself to keep clothes from slipping) is inexpensive. Eye make-up remover.

    packs of gum
    candy
    hair bands
    play dough
    silly putty
    lip gloss
    nail polish
random things from the dollar store
    character themed pencils
    bubbles

Makes it a little hard since you have such a wide range. You might want to have a certain bag for children under 12 and then another for children over 12

I’d report “space oddity” if i were you. she/ it has many answers like the one that you got from her. You specifically stated it concerns children and she still gave that unbelievably stupid answer. Look at her profile and you’ll see she/it does this to nearly everyone.
no one should have to put up with that.

Some of the actual answers you have are pretty good. maybe taking them out to dairy queen would be a nice idea also.

This one mom on my dance team bought everyone make-up bags with a little traveler cases for earrings and stuff. It was such a good idea since every competitor uses make up, earrings, etc.!

Hair things to make beautiful buns
Lotion/something like bengay for sore muscles
Clear nail polish (for runs in tights)
    Lip gloss
    Rhinestone hair pins
Maybe tie it in a goodie bag with pointe shoe ribbon

    Good luck :)

Small beading kits to make jewelry for themselves.
    Pretty rhinestones barrettes
Tiny rhinestone beads and wire for making their own tiaras
    Ribbons for shoes
    Glitter hairspray
    Lip gloss
    Powder blush
    Pastel powder eye shadows
    Small journals or diaries
    Tiny boxes for mementos
My favorite places online for these are:

The latter is a Houston based business which was established in 1915 and has a good variety of dance supplies for the very young and the young at heart.
