I have to do this very important career research paper and need help choosing my career. I wish to be a fashion designer but im going to a fashion design high school meaning most people would do a report on fashion design. I want to do something different yet interesting. But still be inside of the art and design business. Any ideas would help.

Try Graphic Arts, might be a nice twist….
graphic design, patternmaker, stylist, art direction, lighting direction, textile design, colorist, illustrator, staging, costume design.
There’s so many angles you can look into here’s a few you can look into:
Visual Merchandise Manager:(you’ll be responsible for making plan-o-grams for store displays, understanding the material used in clothing is helpful here).
Buyer:(knowing patternmaking techniques is useful! You can work for department stores or smaller companies to improve/learn the business, you have the control of what you see in the stores your customers shop, having a degree/eye for fashion is definitely needed here).
Hope this helps….Good Luck.
